Rupan · Inorganic Fiberboard

The panel built from coal's industrial waste.

China produces 80 million tonnes of coal gasification slag every year — most of it landfilled. Keli Keying converts it through two rounds of 1500°C plasma melting into all-glass-phase inorganic fiber panels. Class A fire, zero formaldehyde, antibacterial, marine-certified. Installed in commercial buildings, hospitals, ships and public infrastructure across China.

What It Is

1500°C double melting. Glass-phase precision.

Coal gasification slag — the industrial by-product of China's 400+ large coal chemical plants — has accumulated to over 300 million tonnes. Rather than landfilling it, Keli Keying's plasma melting system processes the slag through two separate 1500°C high-temperature melting cycles, reconstructing its mineral phase and chemical composition to produce all-glass-phase inorganic fibers. These are hot-pressed into panels and finished with HD 3D printing and electron beam curing — available in over 200 textures and colours including wood grain, marble and solid finishes.

Fire classification to EN 13501-1:2018 by SGS returned A2-s1,d0: FIGRA 15.1 W/s (limit 120), THR 1.3 MJ (limit 7.5), SMOGRA 6.7 m²/s² (limit 30), zero flaming droplets. Smoke toxicity t0 grade. All 14 carbonyl compounds including formaldehyde not detected. TVOC 19 µg/m³. Antibacterial rate ≥ 90%. Mould grade 0 (ASTM G21, 5 species, 28 days). Static bending strength 20 MPa indoor / 27 MPa outdoor. Salt spray resistance ≥ 4,000 hours. Radiation: internal/external index ≤ 1.0. Safe for children — EN 71-3 heavy metals pass.

Class A Non-combustible — EN 13501-1:2018
≥ 90% Antibacterial rate
4,000h Salt spray resistance

Why It Matters

Specified across six sectors.

Commercial & Public Buildings

A2-s1,d0 fire classification meets post-Grenfell mandatory requirements for offices, schools, hospitals, airports and transport hubs. FIGRA 15.1 W/s — 12% of the limit. Installed in shopping centres, office buildings and high-speed rail stations across China.

Healthcare & Clean Rooms

Antibacterial rate ≥ 90%, mould grade 0, antiviral surface treatment, zero formaldehyde and resistant to disinfectants. Meets the stringent hygiene and cleanliness requirements of hospitals, laboratories and research facilities.

Marine & Industrial

DNV-GL certified for shipbuilding. Salt spray resistance ≥ 4,000 hours, moisture resistance H3B3, frost resistance flexural ratio ≥ 70%. Ideal for chemical plants, smelters and coastal industrial environments.

Circular & Net Zero

Solid waste utilisation rate ≥ 95%. No wood, stone or virgin aggregate required. Replaces calcium silicate board, gypsum, cement fibre and aluminium cladding. 100% recyclable. Supports the UK's net-zero construction targets.

How it compares to traditional boards.

Fire resistance

Class A (non-combustible) — EN 13501-1:2018 certified

Wood and gypsum fail. Stone and tile pass but are heavy.

Weight

~1T/m³ — lighter than all inorganic alternatives

Stone and tile: ~3T/m³. Calcium silicate: ~1.5T/m³.

Formaldehyde

Not detected — all 14 carbonyl compounds ND

Wood fibre boards emit formaldehyde. Stone carries radiation risk.

Mould resistance

Grade 0 (ASTM G21) — zero growth across 5 fungal species

Gypsum absorbs moisture and grows mould. Calcium silicate absorbs too.

Antibacterial

≥ 90% antibacterial rate — antiviral surface treatment included

No traditional board offers antibacterial properties as standard.

Salt spray / corrosion

≥ 4,000 hours salt spray resistance — DNV-GL marine certified

Aluminium and gypsum degrade. Most boards untested.

Nail / screw grip

≥ 900N indoor / ≥ 1,200N outdoor. Can be sawn, nailed, glued or dry-hung.

Tile and stone cannot be nailed. Gypsum has poor grip.

Environmental origin

≥ 95% coal gasification slag — industrial waste diverted from landfill

All alternatives use virgin materials — stone, wood, calcium or aluminium.

UK Market Entry

Certified. Compliant. Ready for market.
